Candle Care
About Our Soy Wax
It may not be the smoothest or the shiniest wax, but unlike paraffin it's non-toxic, skin-safe, clean burning, and it comes from renewable resources in the USA. We'll take a few bumps & ripples over potential carcinogens any day.
Let It Burn
Seriously though, make sure you achieve a full melt pool, especially on your first burn. This ensures you get the best scent throw and lessens the likelihood of tunneling therefore maximizing the life of your candle.
Keep It Tight
Be sure to trim the wick & keep the surface of your candle free of debris. Maintaining a wick of about 1/8 inch above the wax helps avoid "mushrooming" and the associated soot build up in your vessel (yuck). Also please only make cuts when your candle is completely cool because *safety*.
Say Goodbye
Once there's only about 1/2 to 1/4 inch of wax in your vessel it's time to say goodbye. We like to pop ours in the freezer for a couple hours to make wax removal easy breezy. Follow with a quick wash and your container is ready for it's next life.
Speaking Of Next Lives
If you're anything like us, the container matters just as much as the candle inside it which is why we only use vessels that are equally beautiful and functional both as candles and otherwise. No one needs another cheap container, immediately destined for the trash because it has a giant sticker on it that's impossible to get off and even if you could it wouldn't matter because it's boring anyway (#instantgarbage).
